Our Felt Board- Tutorial & Inspiration Photos
I'm so excited to share this little project I've been working on!
I have wanted to create a Felt Board for my girls for a while..
Once I got the felt and created the big board..
I started having fun creating little pieces for the girls to play with!
I took requests. ;)
Sienna's favorites..
the airplane and duckies in the pond.
I have received a lot of requests to purchase
some of the Felt Board Pieces I created...so..
some of the Felt Board Pieces I created...so..
I decided to open up shop! Charming Felt.
Would love to create some handmade fun for you!
For those of you who Sew..
Here's some inspiration for your own felt board!
This is great quiet play time for my girls.
They love putting the pieces all over the board.
Sophia is very specific about where the sun goes. top right corner.
anywhere else and you're a crazy person.
The Castle and horse and carriage were one of the first things I made..
She then requested a princess sophie and sienna..and a prince for each of them.
So of course they needed their weekend cottages. ;)
And a Church to go say hi to Jesus.. a Farm for food!
And you can't have a farm without a cute pond full of duckies,
a pumpkin patch and some apple trees!
I might have to add some cars to the road eventually..
but for now the school bus and fire truck are their favorite "vehicles" anyways.
I think my favorite is the tractor with the bale of hay that they can take out and feed to the horse. They sometimes fill up the tractor with the pumpkins. :)
Here's the step by step of how I made the felt board.
I had a big piece of artwork that we weren't using so I used it as my base.
Someone was very excited about her felt board......
happy babies. happy mommy.
Hope you found some felt inspiration!
If you haven't checked out the felt cupcakes I made for the board..

This felt board is so cute!! Can't wait for you to come out with some pieces for Etsy :) Love it!
OH my goodness, so crazy cute! And so detailed...I just love it! Great job, Mamma!
I love this idea! I really want to make one for my little girl. Did you just go to the fabric store and buy a bunch of each color of felt, or do you recommend a place to order online?
Thanks so much! Great inspiration!!
I love this! I'm going to bring up this idea at church and hopefully we can make one for the children's room!
So Cute! Wondering where you found such large pieces of felt?
I think that it is a great idea for the etsy shop. But I was wondering if you are still going to put up the templates for felt pieces.
Do you have paper patterns for these pieces? Or any suggestions on how to make my own? I am new to sewing and have never used felt but I would love to make this for my daughter for Christmas.
This is so adorable! I think I'll make one for my nieces for Christmas. Did you have to double-layer each item when you sewed it? For example, for the school bus, did you have to cut out 2 yellow school bus shapes and sew them together to give it more "substance"?
Thanks!
How big is your board? I'm trying to decide what size to make. Thanks!
what are you using to attach the peices to the board (velcro, double sided tape)
I love this idea for our playroom. I made quiet felt books for my 2 for Christmas, which are very handy during church.
I added a link to your wonderful post from my blog, "My Teacher's Name is Mama" (Snow Much Fun: Felt Boards) Thanks for sharing this is great!
HI! Thanks for the inspiration, I just had a go at making this for my 2 boys today during nap time - mostly dinos for today!
Can I ask how you store your felt pieces please?
Thanks! - UK Mummy xx
